Muriwai on the West coast of North Island New Zealand is another wild untamed black sand beach. This special place seems to stretch on forever. At certain times of the year it's possible to view a gannet colony at close range just south of this spot (see a future listing). I recall a broody day. This picture was taken as the night sky was rolling in.

Evening Rolls In - Muriwai
