The Sky Tower dominates the city of Auckland ! It's some 328 meters high. It took 2.5 years to build and was opened on March the 3rd 1997. The tower itself has been designed to withstand wind in excess of 210 km/h. It's also earthquake resistant - a relief to those who live and work in the 'Central Business District' ! The upper portion of the tower contains two restaurants (one revolving) and various observation decks (including some with portions of glass floor). The tower attracts over 600,000 visitors a year. This picture was taken while walking up Victoria St West one sunny afternoon. I like the angle on this one. Think it worked out OK.
