Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple
This picture was taken just outside Sik Sik Yuen Wong Tai Sin Temple. The temple itself is situated in the heart of urban Kowloon and is well worth a visit! It covers some 18,000 square metres and is located in a tranquil natural setting remote from the nearby housing estates. The gardens are a joy to visit (pictures coming soon). Turtles play happily in the waters that frequent this area. The temple is an important religious centre and preaches three traditional religions - Taoism, Buddhism and Confucianism. Use of incense in religion is prevalent in many cultures and prior to entering the temple many people burn incense sticks as a mark of respect or perhaps as an offering to a deity.
